Appointments and Pricing

  • What is the process?

At Pause Health, we start with a 20-minute initial consultation ($105) to ensure a mutual fit between patient and provider. This visit allows us to take a general health history, understand your goals, and determine if lab work is needed. If bloodwork is required, a requisition will be provided and must be completed prior to your next appointment.

Your second visit is a comprehensive initial intake, booked for 60 minutes and billed at $425. This appointment offers a deeper dive into your health history, a thorough review of your lab results, and the creation of a personalized treatment plan tailored to your unique needs.

Follow-up appointments are scheduled for 30 minutes, are based on your individual care plan and are billed at $240. The frequency of follow-ups will depend on your response to treatment and ongoing goals.

  • What forms of payment do you accept?

We accept VISA, Mastercard and debit.

  • Does insurance cover your services?

Our services are currently not covered by provincial healthcare plans as Nurse Practitioners are considered “uninsured providers”. However, if you have a Health Spending Account (HSA) through your benefits, you may be able to submit your receipt for reimbursement. We recommend checking with your provider for details on your coverage.

  • Can I cancel or reschedule my appointment?

Of course! We understand life happens, but we require at least 24 hours’ notice for cancellations or rescheduling. Late cancellations may be subject to a fee.

Hormone Therapy and Treatment

  • How do I know if my hormones are the problem?

Hormonal changes can impact many aspects of your health. You may have a hormone-related concern if you’re experiencing:

    • Fatigue & low energy

    • Mood swings, anxiety, or depression

    • Brain fog & memory issues

    • Sleep disturbances

    • Hot flashes & night sweats

    • Low libido

    • Unexplained weight changes

A comprehensive assessment and bloodwork can help determine if your symptoms are related to your hormones and whether treatment may be beneficial.

  • What types of hormone therapy do you offer?

We provide Individualized, evidence-based hormone therapy (HRT) options, including:

    • Bioidentical hormones

    • Estrogen, progesterone, and testosterone therapy

    • Non-hormonal treatment options

  • Is hormone therapy safe?

Hormone therapy is safe for most individuals when prescribed appropriately. We follow the latest guidelines and tailor treatment to your specific needs.

  • How long does it take to see results?

Generally, patients start feeling improvements within a few weeks to a few months. However, because there is no one size fits all approach, your results will depend on many factors like the symptoms we’re addressing, your body’s response to treatment, and your overall health. And of course we can’t make any guarantees as health and wellbeing are complex! But we promise to work closely with you to monitor progress and make adjustments as needed to help you feel and function at your best.

  • How often do I need follow-up appointments?

Follow-up care is an individualized process—our goal is to ensure your treatment is both safe and effective while supporting your long-term health.

When starting a new treatment, we typically schedule more frequent follow-ups to monitor your progress and make any necessary adjustments. As you move into a maintenance phase, you may only need 1–2 appointments per year to ensure everything stays on track. We’ll work together to find the right follow-up schedule for you.

Sexual Health

  • What types of sexual health concerns do you treat?

We address a range of sexual health concerns, including low libido, painful intercourse, erectile dysfunction, arousal and orgasm challenges, vaginal dryness, genitourinary symptoms of menopause, and hormone-related sexual changes. We provide care that is evidence-based, respectful, and tailored to your unique needs..

  • Will you talk to my partner as part of treatment?

Only if you’d like to include them. Some people benefit from involving their partner in conversations or treatment plans, but that’s entirely your choice. We respect your preferences and boundaries.

  • Can I really talk openly about sexual health concerns?

Sexual health is health! And while sometimes it can feel uncomfortable to talk about, sexual health is an important part of your overall well-being, and it’s completely valid to seek support. We provide a safe, confidential space where you can speak openly and feel heard without judgment.

  • What types of treatment options are there?

At Pause Health, we take a personalized and evidence-based approach to treating sexual dysfunction. Treatment options may include hormone therapy, vaginal or penile therapies, medications, lifestyle support, and addressing factors like stress, sleep, and relationship dynamics. We’ll work together to understand what’s contributing to your concerns and create a care plan that supports your sexual health and overall well-being.
